Live in the most powerful and richest country in the world, the country that won two world wars and has a great cultural, commercial and ethnic influence in all the world. But is it really good to live in a country with such feature? In my opinion it wouldn't be the best, especially for health, the United States is a country with only 33.1% of area covered by forest and emits about 6,049,435 tons of carbon dioxide, but people don't look for that side.
Let's think then the terrorist attacks that the country has suffered as Al Qaeda when attacked the towers of the World Trade Center, and that might suffer again. This year, there was a conflict between the Koreas and the country was threatened. How to live in a country with so many disturbances? It has a high-tech, 99% of the population is literate, but lives in danger. Do you want this life?Think about the positives and negatives points ! Bárbara
Congratulations Barbara, You mentioned many difficulty to someone to live in United States , I agre with many of your alegations but if try to figure out what country would offer better conditions as: weather, culture, people, etc., probable We won't find a better one. I spent a few months there and it was such a graet expecience that I haven't forgotten yet.
ReplyDeleteI think that if we go there just thinking about the bad things that have occurred and that can occur we would never go out of our houses, because bad things can happen to everyone in every place. For me, the US is a "perfect" place to live, and there is a safe place, obviously every place we have violence, and things like that, but it's not the "amount" we have here in Brazil and in other countries.
ReplyDeleteas Thais said, we have to face the challenge, it is always good to visit different places and learn about different cultures.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Barbara that we have to consider both parts-bad and good sides-to affirm that a place is the best than all the others.Of course that we have the qualities of living in the USA,like the length of the laws, the price and quality of things, the respect...But we still have the bad side of living in a super power country, like terrorism, the command...Karen Tabata.
