VIOLENCE
Hello guys, How is everybody?
What do you think of Television? Can we say television is responsible for the violence we see every day?
I think we can't blame television for the cause of people's agressivity. There are another points much more important that influence people,for example: Where does the person live?, How is their family structured ?, What is the kind of people that are their friends?
This is not prejudice. But this factors influence people in a direct way. With our parents we learn what is wrong or right, they give us a limit. Our Neighbourhood has almost the same role. We generally live near people that has the same conditions and goals than us. For example with we go to a poor neighbourhood their teens probably are not thinking in college, they are thinking in what will they do after high school. In your social class its commom to see we talking about college. And if you grow in a Violent neighbourhood you will get used to that violence and maybe you wont think that its wrong. Of course this is not to everybody, Its not a rule, But it does influence our way of seing the world.
In other cases we can see "playboys", people who always had everything and , even though, went to that bad way.
So, I tried to explain that we have more impport things to care. Television its not the reason why our society is so violent. I believe we all know the difference between real life and fiction.

Hi Isabella, I think that the television doesn't have the whole responsability of the violence we see everyday, but for me it is responsible for part of it, maybe this people you said that had everything the whole life and then went to the bad way may have been influenced by television beyond the society in which they live. But like you said it's not a rule, not everyone are like this.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, in my opinion people that say that television is the reason for a wrong comportment of their children is because they didn't really educated them correct, because the personality of someone is determinated mainly by the people that are close to them, like their parents, and all the programs on TV have the advertisement that show the correct age for each kind of movie. The same happens with games, some people say that they have influence on childrens and teens life, I never got influenced by a game, and I never saw a cases of persons that started hitting their heads on the bricks trying to get coins from them, like in the game Mario(that exists since a very long time ago)
ReplyDeleteI think the same of you Isabella , sometimes the TV or video games can have a little effect on violence but the main problem it's their family , their life in general ... and in my opinion , the TV can only affects kids , because when you're older you have more consciousness and the TV will not affect the person .
ReplyDeleteI agree, family and people present in their life are the main responsible for the violence, and so that's why we have an age limit for that kind of program, I think all people know the difference between reality and fiction, and that's also the problem, because they see people around him and take that as the right behavior, so, like Jean-Jacques Rousseau said, the society corrupts men.

ReplyDeleteBrazilian society has been suffering the effects of a growing violence and studiers give so many diferent causes to justify this human beravior. Many people says the television has a great influence on it. In my oppinion, is not easy to point the main reason because the familiar structure, education, punishment, drugs etc, are the mais reason that definitaly make a big diference . Actually I wouldn’t say that television is quit responsible for this reality, but We have seen many psycopaths attacks were decided after the criminals have seen others crimes on TV reports and than toke tham to do things even worst than that. For sure its a big and complicated problem that the whole society has to face up with.

The television , video games etc , doesn t influence you , and as Isabella said it is the place where you live , the type of family you are part of and most important your goals in life that construct your behavior ... Nice post Isabella
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Isabella.Of course,people,normally,don't do bad things just because they saw it in the television;have many others facts that influence people acts.Probably those violence people didn't have the right teaching,or they live in a "rude" place(that is not a refined place).But,I think that television can influence a little bit,if it is associated to others facts...Bella!!!!what a huge post!!!Karen Tabata.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Isabella, in my point of view TV just influences kids, because they don't know what is right or wrong yet.There is a lot of things that can influence a person, for example their friends.
